New Section 12.
12. Policies, Procedures, and Meeting Minutes. Formal Policies and Procedures of the Organization as well
as Minutes of all Board and Committee meetings, shall
be published in a manner accessible by Members.
Rationale
Currently, many
policies are kept secret. When I have asked to see certain policies, I have
been told it is the policy of the organization not to release the contents of
policies to the members. In the interest of transparency, all of these should
be posted. Personnel sensitive, or other personal information should be
considered in Executive Session and not documented in the minutes, or redacted
from them. Similarly, if there is discussion that might give a competitor
organization an advantage, that information should be redacted as well.
